Stepan Avagyan Memorial "Jermuk-2023" International Chess Tournament

The Chess Academy of Armenia is organizing an International Chess Tournament Stepan Avagyan Memorial from 2-12 of May, 2023 in Jermuk, Armenia. The tournament is held in a 10-player GM norm round-robin format, in 9 rounds and is a FIDE category 16 event.

Time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game (with 30 seconds increment starting from move one).

The total prize fund is 4 100 000 AMD (≈ 10 000 USD).

1st place– 1 600 000

2nd place– 1 100 000

3rd place–  800 000

4th place–  600 000

Our partner “Chessify” company has established special prizes for tournament participants.

1st place –  bundle /400$/

2nd place – bundle /300$/

3rd place – bundle /200$/

4th place – bundle /100$/

Tie breaks will be carried out according to the following rules.

a) Sonneborn Berger,

b) colour,

c) personal game,

d) number of victories,

In case of a tie the monetary prizes are distributed equally.
